What fees are involved?
There is no cost to join THE Highland Exchange as a buyer. There are also no costs to join or list your Highland for sale as a seller.
Fees- The BUYER pays a 5% transaction fee to make purchases on THE Highland Exchange. There is also a 1.5% payment processing fee for a total of 6.5%
The SELLER pays a 5% transaction fee to complete sales on THE Highland Exchange. There is also a 1.5% payment processing fee for a total of 6.5%
The payment processing fee pays for any Stripe, Credit Card, Wallet, or banking fees.
Who Arranges Transportation?
The Buyer is typically responsible for making shipping arrangements. If you have yet to do so, fire off your details to a few of the Transporters listed here and they will be happy to hook you up with a quote.
Can I pick up my Highland myself?
Sure! This can be a great way to meet your seller and take a fun road trip. Confirm with your seller that this is an option for them, work out the schedule, and hit the road!
What paperwork is required for transfer?
The seller must provide a health certificate/veterinary inspection papers for any animal traveling out of the state of origin. Some states may require a bill of sale or owners statement. Here is an example.
Why is my signature required?
Signatures collected during registration will only be used if necessary on your behalf, for purchase documents, for example, the bill of sale. This is done to simplify the paperwork process.
Are Returns & Exchanges available?

No. All sales are final. No returns unless there is an unusual circumstance in which the buyer and seller agree that there was a misunderstanding or misrepresentation. In this case, the buyer and seller will forego original purchase fees and will have to negotiate the transportation details and return amongst themselves.
I just bought a Highland... Can I sell one too?

How long before my listing is visible online?
In order to make sure that listings are concise and meet the expectations everyone has come to expect at THE Highland Exchange, it will take just a few moments to review. We will either contact you for some revisions if required or send an email that your listing was approved and ready to view.
How long before my Marketplace is ready?
All seller accounts are verified, tied to your bank account, and reviewed for accuracy. The moment this is ready, you will receive an email and your customizable Marketplace will be ready to go!
Can I make a purchase of a Highland listed here, outside of THE Highland Exchange website?
No. This is a direct violation or the Terms and Conditions of THE Highland Exchange. This will be monitored closely and if it happens, both parties will be banned from the website for life. No exceptions.
Can I really post my listing as an Auction?
Absolutely! Our Auctions are totally customizable. You can set your minimum bid, reserve price, and even set a buy it now price. You can also set a delayed Auction start which shows a countdown clock to the start of the Auction. Auctions are proxy based, and have $50 increments for Genetics and $250 increments for Highlands. Auctions are also extended at the last moment to prevent sniping.
Can I share my listings on social media?
Sure thing! Every product and auction has a Facebook share icon that is a direct link to the Product or Auction. Click and share!
Why are my photos watermaked?
We take security very seriously and one of the most vulnerable items that sellers own are their photographs. If a photo gets circulated we want some evidence left in place to lead them back to you so you can make the sale. This process is automated and requires no action on the sellers behalf.
